Brand and web design for departments within UCSF

Many departments at UCSF, or schools in general, have terribly mundane websites that are both visually sore on the eyes as well as confusing to navigate. This is especially true of visitors who are not accustomed to navigating the layers of a typical university medical center.

This was the start of challenges for the UCSF Otolaryngology department. And beyond this, the team also wanted to create a website that was visually striking, with immediate credibility, that would stand out among Otolaryngology departments from other schools without directly breaking any branding limitations set forth by the umbrella guidelines of the UCSF brand at large.
